James H. Townsend is an Affiliate working with Hewitt Executive Search, a division of Hewitt Partners International Management Consultants, an executive search and multi-disciplinary management consultant organization headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Mr. Townsend grew up in Illinois, and has lived in a number of states to include Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, California and Arizona. His professional background includes over 25 years with National Managed healthcare organizations to include United Healthcare, Foundation Health Systems (Healthnet), and Omni Healthcare. He has held Chief Operating Officer (COO), Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, National Vice President and Regional Vice President Assignments.

As a senior executive in national managed care organizations, he has held responsibility and accountability for multi-million dollar P&Ls. He has been recognized for his highly developed interpersonal, communication, project management, analytical and technical skills. He has a proven record of integrity, consistency, reliability, follow-through and dedication to quality outcomes.

Mr. Townsend is a graduate of Aurora University of Aurora, Illinois (1970), where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He earned a Masters in Social Work (MSW) with emphasis in Clinical Application from University of Wisconsin (1973). He earned a Masters in HealthCare Administration (MHA) with emphasis in finance from St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota (1984).

Mr. Townsend has been on the faculty at two major universities as an associate and adjunct professor.
